4 Steps to Reaching More Customers With Your Social Media Efforts
Reaching more customers with your social media marketing efforts is often a matter of working more efficiently and effectively. Here are four steps you can take to improve your social media-related time management, help boost your social media performance, and extend your reach toward new and existing customers.
- Plan your approach: Determine how many times per week you want to post new content to your blog, update your Facebook page, or engage with your social media sites. Schedule time to create appropriate content and make sure to give yourself plenty of reminders to prevent a last-minute panic over a quickly approaching deadline. Recognize when your postings are scheduled to appear and what you have to do in advance to ensure they’re placed on your blog, website or social media page on time and in the format you prefer.
- Automate blog postings and social media functions: By automating as many of your social media activities as possible, you free up time for other functions while ensuring your blog posts, website updates, tweets or other content appears when you want it to. Write several posts in advance and use the scheduling functions of your social media site or blogging platform to slot this material for automatic posting on a set schedule.
- Stick to a schedule: When dealing with social media, it’s easy to get distracted by the process or by other people’s content. Take time to read and respond to comments when you want to engage with your visitors, but adhere to a schedule when doing tasks that don’t immediately require interaction with others, such as writing sharable content, updating Facebook, or reading other people’s posts.
- Don’t overdo it: Recognize that you don’t have to have a presence on every social media site in existence. Determine which ones are the most useful and effective for you and focus your efforts on those.
